hi i have a ford galaxy tdi and if i wait for the heater plug warning light to go out the car struggles to start but if i turn the ignition over quick i.e. before the heater plug warning light goes out 9 times out of 10 it will start. a quick response will be much appreciated thanks in advance

its hard to select gears for example i need to give it loads of revs and bring the clutch up really slowly and push the gear stick to the far left to engage first gear could this be possibly the gear selector?
