1994 Chevy Caviler, headlight just turn off, then come back on, then flicker?

How do you get the left front axle out of a 89 Honda Accord?
I have Haynes Manual, I need to replace the alternator. It looks like the Axle needs to be removed, I have unbolted the strut from the swing arm, but i can't figure out how to get the axle out of the hub. Please help!
