    Do cars shut down with low oil pressure? 86 buick century 3.8?

    A friend of mine is having a problem with her car..she has NOT changed her oil in over a year.. the oil light came on, she put more oil in the car, drove it home and now it wont start.. is there a safety feature that will shut the motor down because of low pressure... I agree... Shes a young...
