    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I know there's 3 ghettos little cellphone booths in Eaton Center downtown, lol, they seem to always have the latest, but not sure if I would trust them... Know anything about that?

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

cbreze; Opera Mobile won't run on my E71, the d-pad doesn't trigger anything so I'm unable to select stuffs. Opera Mini, however, does work perfect. I use UCWEB6 and the S60 browser though.

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

I had a feeling the wait would be a lot longer. We will definitely know more Monday. I was really hoping they would have wanted to brush up their North American image and release both at the same time. Oh, well, same ol' Nokia.

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

The more and more I read this thread and the closer the prospective release date is to arriving, the more I worry about the N97 ousting my X1i. I find myself increasingly averse to the shortcomings of the X1i that I am confident the N97 will fix (mediocre, hissy music playback and laggy...

Nokia Rolls Out QT SDK for Symbian and Meego App development

QT is awesome. This is where the high quality, high quantity apps will come from. Everyone should check it out. This is why Symbian^3 will be much better than the previous versions of S60.

    American Dad - Roger plots

What we found out from that episode is that he was considered a "Crash test dummy". We don't even know if it was his own species that made "that call", it could have been another one entirely. We also don't know if his space shuttle was aimed towards Earth or it just randomly wound up there...

The Haunted World of El Superbeasto theatrical screenings

I have to give Zombie kudos on this one, never been a big Rob Zombie fan, but he truly poured a lot of his soul into this animated flick. It originally began as a $1.5 million dollar indie animated movie produced out of his pocket, it then ballooned to $10 million dollars in budget because he...

    Discovery-Hasbro Network Now "The Hub"

I can't speak for anyone else, but I will say this. Until we hear otherwise, we should give this channel the benefit of the doubt, and assume that it won't be all E/I programs. Make no mistake though, the channel definitely have them. I understand they're working on a revival of Romper Room (now...

    What short was that?!

Will we ever see serious openly gay / lesbian characters in western animation?

My sense is that homosexuality is perceived as something one is meant to grow out of, so there's a good portion of people who frequent gay bars in Tokyo but don't identify as gay, perhaps even take on beards. Samurai culture also had a tradition of homoeroticism. Slash/yaoi is entirely...

Banned episodes that didn't deserve to be banned

Not only that, but it seemed more degrading to Christians than Jews, as it claimed Jews were smarter, and depicted nuns as a crazy violent militia.

How much of Ren and Stimpy's ST wasn't just stock music and stuff they made themselves?

Ren & Stimpy -- one of the greatest of all time?

No one is saying it was revolutionary because of "toilet humor" (as if that's all the show was! So dismissive, all of you!) It was revolutionary because it was a cartoon TV show with no writers -- ONLY cartoonists, written, directed and completely made by cartoonists. There wasn't anything on...

What do you prefer seeing, 2D or 3D animation and why ?

Playing off some of the stuff Ink and Pixel says above, here is a test you can use on movies and things that I think exposes the gap between CGI and 2-D pretty well - watch the movie, or show or whatever, and then look at the concept art. Or, if there is no concept art available, just try to...

Cartoons you only like for nostalgia.

Pokemon. I don't know if I actually like the pre-johto or if I am nostalgic blind to it. I also somethimes watch My Little Ponies on You Tube for old times sake.

Animated Intros to Live Action Films

What's your opinion on animated intro sequences for live action films? I'm referring to movies like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation or The Pink Panther. Do you enjoy them, or do you feel the two mediums are mismatched, and that once the cartoon ends, it feels awkward to cut to live...

    Doujinshi based off American properties

There was actually a bunch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle manga/doujin out there, some of it was and isn't based on that TMNT anime special. A quick search on google should yield some results.

    Sexiest voices in animation

Female Voices? I'm sure anime dub fans agree and I'm surprised no one's mention her: Wendee Lee. Ahhh Faye, how I love you, and I'd definitely agree with Kari Wahlgren especially as Haruko from FLCL. Both Steve Blum and Crispin Freeman get nods from me as Spike Spiegel and Alucard respectively...
