Yes the manual refresh is extremely annoying. Slows me down big time. I use conversation and I hear ya. I love it but it destroys my T9 dictionary all the time and crashes alot which is very frustrating.

Put it under a hair dryer on "low" power and see if you can get rid of any remaining moisture which is probably the cause of the faint screen. You could also - since it's not covered anyway - pull the screws and then run it under the hair dryer?
