N97 is probally running tweaked version of ARM 11 and at least looking at the videos on youtube about web browsing and gallery it seems fast, but it's not yet the selling product and there's still months till it's released so we just have to wait to see...

Well once I saw how this thing charges I hated it immediately, its a very thin pin recessed into the charging jack. Have you checked if the pin is bent? That is a likely cause. If you twist the charger out of there you could easily bend it and make it much harder to use.
