Animation is the way the characters move, not the way they look. That would be the art, i.e the character designs, backgrounds, colors, etc.

I have the same set up as you do and find it works very well. If it has recognised the GPS and you have married them it should work - is the GPS fully charged and are you using it outside and not too far apart - those are the only reasons I can think of - the palm would not recognise if not...
