Cellphones Nokia CEO Stephen Elop rallies troops in brutally honest 'burning platform

I thought I read that its going to have both HSPA+ and CDMA on the same chipset/phone? Yeah Camera and no MicroSD are bummers. But there's still Android so, I mean I didn't plan on buying anything until probably mid-year anyways. Plenty of time for cool stuff to come out. the Atrix looks...

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

To follow up on my query about the E71-3, here's what Nokia's specs say: E71-3 == Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/2100 HSDPA I'm wondering if that's a typo that should be: E71-3 == Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 1700/2100 HSDPA Either way, I'm very sure the E71-2 is the...

Has The Simpsons Legacy Been Tarnished?

Any show that has aired as long as The Simpsons has with as many uninteresting episodes and horrible episodes had definatly tarnished themselves. Of course this is only my opinion, but still.

New animated Tarzan movie.. IN 3D!

I was hoping they were converting Disney's Tarzan into 3-D. That would be interesting to see. Oh, well, maybe this will be good.

Lisa Judson, named president, Warner Bros. Animation

"A man's job"?! Wasn't aware being a corporate exec was a gender-specific job... The first non-Disney animated movie certainly wasn't the "Rugrats" movie by a long shot... All in all, I do hope this marks an improvement for animation within the Time-Warner hierarchy, even if it...

Villains you prefer: understandable motives or just evil?

One cliche is the pilot of most cartoons where the villain usually has no beef with the protagonist until they do something like stop their plan, or they attempt to get them to join their side and the protagonist rejects the idea, thereby insulting them.

The End Of Fatkat Animation Studios

I have to take back what I said before. Attempting to do all that in Flash, with such as small crew was a huge effort. The heavily detailed backgrounds, the shadows and shading...even if they cheated with shape/motion tween, it was a good effort. I don't watch Three Delivery often, but the show...

    Favorite "vintage-styled" cartoons?

Disney's Mouseworks short "Mickey and the Goatman" and Billy and Mandy's "Hill Billy" were two of my favourite "mock-vintage" shorts. Not only are they a nod to the Black-and-White days but they also have a special treat: The video of both shorts have a deliberately scratchy "aged-film" look...

    Product Placement in cartoons?

That's what I thought most of them in the world of cartoons were, unless the "product" being placed was a product of the same production origin, like my example: Batman The Animated Series episode "Nothing To Fear" in which the security guard is reading a Tiny Toons comic, which was also on...

The Simpsons - "The Real Housewives of Fat Tony" - Talkback [5/1]

I wish the entire subplot was dropped and the fourth act was about Selma getting back to her life at the DMV and with Pattie. The main plot gets a "B". The subplot gets a "D". Overall, I'd give this a C, or 3/5.

Another strong argument for hand-drawn over CGI

With the exception of some Pixar films, I personally don't care much for CGI. IMO, CGI requires no real talent other then knowing how to use computers.
