    Why is Eddie Willers not invited to go to the valley in Atlas Shrugged?

    At the end he does not decide to stay with Dagny. He instead goes to CA to make sure the Comet runs out of San Francisco.. why? He could have gone with Dagny, right? I just didn't understand this specific part of this great novel. Thanks for help.
