You have to help me I need to make a button that has text over it and I found a way using layers and opacity but how do I edit opacity in flash 8 pro?

I have two side by side pictures on my website in HTML and I would like to have some space between them. Could some one tell me what to put between them so they are still side by side but with some space in between.
