We fire up the laptop and desktop icons work just as they should. We close the "lid" and when we open it again the desktop icons no longer work....any ideas how to fix this will be much appreciated?

Okay so this is whats up, on paint in accessories I draw an awsome picture then I save but when I want to edit a picture and I open it there are colours around the picture that I don't want there and i didn't put there, so thats the deal, if you know whats up tell me about it.

When i save my (awsome) painting on my computer it add's colours i don't want to be there, could this be a problem, feature that i can turn off, or my paint feature does that automatically. If you can help me please do I'm in destress for an answer.
