I was driving on the freeway yesterday when my engine just stopped and I had to pull over. I tried to restart the car but it wouldnt. The gas gauge showed half a tank but the car has died like this before when the gauge showed 1/3 and 1/2 left. I had someone bring me some gas about 20 minutes...

The gas gauge on my 2002 Mazda 626 shows that I have 1/4 to 1/3 of a tank of gas left but then the engine dies. It has done this twice now, any ideas on what the problem could be and what to do about it? Thanks
