    Sound like a vacuum leak...a vacuum line has came off. Check and see if there's a cable running from your Carburetor/Fuel Injection to your Transmission.

    Cutlass GT.? It a 1988 Cutlass GT. rwd 307, this was the last year of the rwd. they made.
