    What is easier on the back and more lightweight..a backpack or a messenger

    cross body backpack? Going on a 17mile bike riding expedition. Not sure what kind to get. I have to have 4 bottles of water, 2 bike tubes..lunch and snacks. i have a small bike bag that hangs in front for wallet ..ipod...cell the program said 17 miles/9hrs and that is what is required to take.
