    Can the NCBI contain proprietary sequences even if they have been used in a publication?

    National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) I know that proprietary sequences must be posted in the NCBI in order to be used in a publication but I don't understand if that is what the question is saying. Thank you!!
