    What is the problem with people that never get jokes and take things much too...

    ...seriously? I've noticed lately a trend that people seem clueless about funny situations. Nobody smiles or laughs any more and they seem to take things very literally. I'm always laughing and joking and see the humorous side to things, but when I do, people look at me like I'm insane.

    How would you feel if a friend or relative announced they weren't giving holiday gifts?

    And waited until the week before the holiday to mention it - likely after people had already bought for them. The reason being is because they used all their extra money to buy themselves a very expensive gift.

    Why have electronics shops started to refuse to repair VCRs?

    I like that technology, I know how to use it, I have 275 VHS tapes that would otherwise have to be re-recorded onto DVD discs and I just don't feel the need to acquire every latest electronic gadget. However, some electronics repair shops have stopped servicing VCRs. I call that discrimination.

    Who is responsible for moving items so a painter can paint?

    A painting contractor is hired, but says the homeowner must move the furniture and other items before he paints. The homeowner says the painter should do the moving. Who is correct?
