I have a diamondback trail xc bike and lately I have been riding it in the snow. I was just wondering of this is bad for the tires or the gears or the breaks or anything.

So this guy said if my bike hydraulic shocks I shouldn't ride it in the snow. First of all I wanna know if that's true. And i wanna know if my bike has hydraulic shocks if it is true.

I was noticing that my lookout security app on my android device is always up and running. Will this affect my battery life? if so are there any ways to turn off the gps or whatever it is using to consume my battery life so I can keep the application?
