    Dodge neon automatic transmission?

    I have a 2003 dodge neon sxt with performance injectors. And I was looking at the manual and it says that 3 on the gear box is drive. So when I'm driving it in 3 (drive) it shifts kind of jerky why is this. But when I drive it in overdrive it isn't as bad but doesn't acclerate as fast.

    How come driving my neon in 3 (manual said it was drive) adds so much more accleration to the car. But it shifts kind of jerky in and out of 2nd gear.
