my sharp cd-mpx850 stereo keeps saying TOC READ whenver i go to the cd screen and its not reading my cds. please help if you can!!!

I recently traded for a palm pre for verizon. i wanted to know how to unlock it without service activation.... i really dont want to pay $80/ month as a minimum to use this phone... if there is any way to jailbreak/ unock or even just get past the palm profile screen that would be aweosme.
