I have a blackberry curve 8530 and I hate it and I wanna get a new phone but don't wanna spend 600 on the droid x that I want. We have the family plan and my dads 2 year contract is up and he can get a new phone but he doesn't want one. Can I use his upgrade on my line to get the droid x? Thanks

I have a verizon curve 8530 and it won't turn on unless I take the battery in and out, the l button doesn't work, and I can't scroll on the menus. All this happened while I was inside and my phone was out in the truck. It was like 32 degrees so idk if it's possible for like a phone to freeze but...
