    Doesn't the word solo mean alone?

    I have been on youtube listening to video's that claim to be guitar solo's in the title yet everyone of them although awesome as hell, had drums and sometimes bass in the background. how is this a solo? I always thought solo meant you play alone no other instruments. am I wrong?
