    How much of a "rant" is objective...and how much subjective factors involved...?

    ...in other words, if the people agree with the "rant", is it a rant at all? What makes something a "rant" on here, is it the quality of more "heat" than "light" in the discussion? The length of the question or answer?

    Why do so many radio commercial spots include really annoying background

    sounds...like snare drum solos, or? rock music, or some kind of fast paced rythmic noise? Is there some science to this phenomenon, or is it just a trick to get some to listen that would not listen otherwise? It is becoming one of my "pet peeves".
