I have a CD-burner/DVD player built into my computer - it burns and rips CDs perfectly, but it doesn't do too well with DVD playback and has no DVD burning capabilities...supposing this doesn't change, will I be able to update firmware for Panasonic's DMP-BD601K?

so far I haven't been able to figure out how to make a Data Disc that doesn't have each artist in a separate folder, so I guess an MP3 player wouldn't be such a bad thing, since "everybody" (else) has one...but I don't want to buy a separate speaker system, so if I can, how do I hook an MP3...
