    would apple replace my old iPod if..?

    A friend of mine went in with her iPod that was also out of warranty and even though it was broken they replaced it with the newest generation because it had a working battery. I have a 2nd generation iPod nano that is out of warranty. The actual screen is intact, but the LCD screen is cracked...
