I think the Tyler Perry films are great because of the strong messages in his films about enduring tragedy even though they are melodramatic but I think if he casted non-African-Americans for some of the lead roles it would be easier to get the idea that the films are meant for ALL human beings...

I think the idea of people being defenseless (women, children, etc) is stupid since the human body can be a weapon is someone throws a punch or kicks a leg so that someone trips. Not carrying a firearm doesn't mean a person doesn't have a lethal means of inflicting pain or physical damage...
