    Why does VLC media player cut off my video?

    I downloaded a .mkv movie file and it cuts off when I try to watch it. According to the time bar, the video is 1hour and 7 minutes, however, VLC cuts the video off after 24 minutes. Is there a reason this is happening? Is it VLC? Is it the video? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
