Is there any good crab fishing in southern California, and do you have to use the crab traps, or can you use a normal fishing rod. I would prefer direct information over links to sites, but any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

your description of the fish is too vague...i would say add cichlids, but the are aggressive. if you do add cichlids put in peacock cicdlids. they are colorful.
