When driving along there is a squeaking noise coming from the engine area of the car. When the pedal is depressed it gets louder. Could this be the water pump bearings - if so how costly to fix?

Playing a DVD results in choppy sound and video playback. Voice quality sounds like a chick munk and the visual is in slow motion. When I play the DVD inCyber linkk Power DVD the play back is okay but full volume is still to low... Done driver check. Can anyone help please???
