    Can new HTML Character Entity codes be created?

    The math symbols supported by HTML do not include the most common statistics symbols, such as x-bar, p-bar, p-hat, etc. Can these characters be added? How could this be accomplished? http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_symbols.asp
