    The reason I ask is I'm in eighth grade and am starting K12 soon. I want to have an American history course, but the American History course options at K12 are pretty limited.     How long do I let black walnuts dry (after taking the green hull off) before I can

    crack and eat them? Once I get the green hulls off - and then rinse and dry them - how long should I keep them out before I can crack and eat them?
