I have a 2004 chrysler sebring and I did a break job today. I disconnected the negative battery cable and when I got done and went to hook the battery cable up my alarm started going off. I did what it said in the owner manuel to no avail. What could it be?

I pulled up to my house withe the headlights on, turned the truck off, took the key out, then put it back in to start the truck, headlights on the whole time, when I turned the key I lost all electrical power. No headlights, radio, dome light, NO ELECTRICAL POWER AT ALL. Any ideas?
