    Can a person hack my computer by just chatting in an instant message?

    Hi i was chatting to this person in instant message on paltalk messenger and just because i said something he dis agreed with he told me he would now scan and get my i.p and hack the crap out of my system,so i logged off and never used th program again ,is that possible or is he bluffing ?
