    how long should i wait before painting the next layer?!?

    i just started dabbling with oil paints...and i wanted to know how long should i wait before going ahead with the next layer...i waited for about 30 hours yesterday and when i started the 2nd layer the colors kinda got mixed with the 1st layer...i dont want that to happen..any help/advice is...
