Car was fine until taken on highway, now it stinks of gas fumes outside of car but NOT inside - took it to mechanic and checked for leaks in fuel line but found none. Replaced fuel filter and fuel pump, still bad stench. What else could be causing this horrible stink?? By the way, doesn't stink...

My '88 Cadillac Brougham's A/C and heater stopped working, but while driving hot air comes in from the engine compartment through the floor vents or at least it feels like it! It gets so hot I can't wear sandals if I go on the highway! Do I need to replace the whole control unit or what? Help me!!
