So the guy at the shop says I need the compressor repaired, a new regulator, and two new rear strut assemblies, plus some lines replaced (due to bad seals), all of which will cost more than i paid for the vehicle. But he says doing all of that will also cure the intermittent problems I've had...

-- that motor runs and runs. can i disconnect it? I'm also having intermittent starting problems and suspect the two issues may be related.
