Just thinking, for example, the great directors' last films, for Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut; for Hitchcock, Family Plot, are substandard works, really among the worst they made. Do last films of great directors generally tend ot be bad ? What was Welles' last film ? How bad was it ?
