    what kind of HIV test is done when donating blood?

    when you donate blood, and they test a sample for infectious diseases (and call you if anything turns up, etc), do the tests they run test for antibodies, or presence of the actual virus?

    I keep telling my roommates it doesn't bc it's an 888 number, which according to the FCC is toll free. And they say long distance will charge.. But if my phone is not roaming, and I get free minutes after 9pm, would i still be charged? i'm voting for jason + kaitlyn. =]
