This may be a silly question but are you waiting long enough for the glow plugs to preheat the cylinders before you start the engine?

I would suspect worn out main bearings, oil is thicker giving you pressure after a start, but once things warm up there is little resistance to oil flow because of the bearing wear and your pressure drops.

Synthetic is better than conventional oil in every way but cost. You can use it if you wish. Would not use sea foam though.

Yes it is good, but it will be much better if you get four winter tires. The 4 wheel drive system will let you accelerate faster, but only the tires help you steer and stop with confidence on ice and in the snow.

I once owned a Cherokee with a persistent vibration problem, I had both the front and rear drive shafts rebalanced, that solved the problem.
