    During the Cold War, did domestic and foreign policies protect American's freedom?

    I've looked at each president during the era (Truman to Reagan) and their policies...but I'm not sure if I can pick a stance and say they did protect our freedom or they didn't protect our freedom. I guess what I'm asking is which side has more evidence to back it up?
