Futurama - "Ghost in the Machines" - Talkback [6/30]

I think what they meant was that joke is lame, not the movie. By the way, did anyone catch the name of the magazine Robot Devil was reading? ;)

    Language translator

Does anyone have a recommendation for a spanish-english translator for my T/T. I need it mostly for medical interviews. I noticed that Palm has an expansion card speaking translator but don't know if it's any good. Also, there are a few things on Palmgear, but I don't know how they compare. Thanks

    Transferring AVI files to TX

You should first make sure that you have all the applicable plugins for TCPMP. As for transferring the vid files, I recommend that you buy a card reader/writer, if you don't already have one (they are very cheap, got mines for ten bucks). It's much easier to transfer vid files through the...

Verify T3 Update for SD Card Problem?

Paul and Moose---thanks very much for your comments. I actually picked up a Panasonic 64 MB card a couple of months ago to keep in the slot for routine, timed backups (scheduled for 1 AM each night), and it's performed flawlessly. I have a third SanDisk 256 that I'll likely retire (or at...

What 80's cartoons were considered "good" back when they first aired?

I am going to say Ducktales. I wasn't around much in the '80's, but Ducktales was clearly made with a higher budget then most other cartoons of the time and it wasn't just a commercial for merchandise.

The Simpsons - "Stealing First Base" - Talkback [3/21]

OK, am I the only one who thinks the skateboarding scene wasn't meant to be funny? Skateboarding is what Bart does. In older episodes, when Bart skateboarded, did you sit there laughing your butt off at his amazing skateboard tricks? It's like saying a scene with Homer sitting down and...

What toon villans would be the most threatening to our universe if they were real?

Only because I wonder if they are infected with some hoof and mouth disease or mad cow disease, so yeah. BTW, do you have to pray over left overs? Isn't that rather redundant?

    TX vs. T5

No worries leojbramble. You're more than welcome! Yeah, why they changed Graffiti has got me stumped. I reckon if you're going to make an improvement, why don't they focus on either making a drastic improvement to hardware design or improvements in software to bolster performance on the Palm...

    Stand-alone plots vs continuing plots

Well, that would apply to certain action anime, but the same can be said for entire episodes of complex dialog. The "arc" is usually only furthered for a few seconds at a time. Any one-episode story could be fluffed in the exact same way, with each minor plot point spaced between 22 minute...

Cartoons Today that Rot children's brains

I'd rather watch Johnny Test than Dexter's Lab. I never found Dexter funny... it just felt like it never went far enough with its idea. Ego Trip was cool but not particularly funny. Johnny Test takes it concepts and runs away with it, crank its up to 11 and what have you. Its crazy... I like crazy.

Toon Zone Talkback - Fred Seibert: Today's Toons "Dull as Dishwater"

Greenblatt is really good at making episodes of cartoons. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Greenblatt write the Band Geeks episode of Spongebob?

The debate to end all debates -- FG vs. Simpsons

Enjoy both for reasons stated by many. Since Ben 10 is a bit more serious in tone than the other show/strips mentioned (Aside from King Of The Hill), it works to have a sequel series set in the future. Besides, while it maybe serious, is it really that dark?

Islamic group gives warning to South Park creators for 200th episode...

Frankly, EVERYONE is in the wrong here. First of all, as far as Islam goes, it's blasphemous to show Muhammad. Not good at all. (Admittantly, for specifics reason [they didn't want Muslims worshipping him like the Christians did Christ, instead, focusing on Allah], but still). Matt and Trey...

I can't confirm that directly, (for obvious reasons) but the story has been repeated on several websites besides that one, including an article in the New York Times that was quoted for a Wikipedia entry.
