    Will apple unlock my iphone?

    I recently acquired a iPhone 3Gs, but it is on the VODAFONE UK carrier. Would apple unlock this, or even lock it to 3 Network (as 3 is one of the providers of the iphone)? It is the latest software (4.1) so it cannot be unlocked on the stall in a shopping center yet.
