if you're going to use that logic you might as well include just about every other mainstream rock band from the last 3 decades. most of the 'metal' banRAB from the late 70s and early 80s. anything 'punk' from the last 10 years. and just about every emo band on the radio today.

The main barrier stopping me fully embracing Rap/Hip-Hop is the fact that I always listen to the music first and not the vocal work. I'm not saying that that is the best way to approach Rap. I know thats wrong but I have difficulty changing the way I listen to music after 20 odd years. However...
