Cartoon shorts at the end of episodes, Educational or Comedy?

I can recall that the syndicated series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog aired "Sonic Says" segments near the close of each episode, which were indeed educational (or at least there was more to education than comedy). Sonic explained tips about safety, healthy eating, family issues, etc.

Toon Zone Talkback - Kung Fu Week

FUNimation only sent us four movies, so we round out the week with a show I loved as a kid ... Hey, I was only five years old at the time, and it's not like there was anything much better on.

    Big franchises, small/humble beginnings.

Thinking about it, South Park had a pretty small beginning. The creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker made a quick film school project in 1992 called "Jesus Vs Frosty" that was seen by Brian Graden who commisioned them 2000 bucks to make another one a few years later. The second one "Jesus Vs...

Prdgn: I meaned "Marsupilami"/"My friend Marsupilami", witch had been producted by Marsu Production, TF-1 and Marathon Media from 2000 till 2002 (52 eps, 2 seasons). Fun to do when your bored.

Here's a series of educated guesses, although I totally disagree with number 4. http://www.tv.com/the-fairly-odd-parents/show/4034/top.html?tag=subtabs;top I'd say check out for your TV guide if you really want to get into the show. In England. There are a handful of random single disc...

    Most Troubled/Complicated Animated Productions Ever

The Black Cauldron was in development hell for about ten years, but when it was finally nearing the end of the line in 1985, it had the misfortune of being the first animated film to be scrutinized by the then-new executive team of Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg. Their decision to cut...

    2003 TMNT Utrom Shredder

But surely if they vetoed the decapitation wouldn't the writers just think of another way to 'kill' him (falling to darkness, explosion, etc) rather than rewriting their idea just to keep one shot? That just doesn't make sense. Sure the decapitation was cool to see, but I doubt any half-decent...

    Title Cards In Animation

Foreword: I realize that I have asked people to post images of their favorite title cards in this thread, but such is not the only purpose of this thread. Please do not merely post images, as even though images are great, you should also take the time to participate in the discussion. I don?t...

    Docs To Go Calc

Glad you liked it. I had to laugh - I use the left arrow (HELD) myself -- that was a reason the other one wouldn't have worked! Changed it this morning to Right Arrow; since I'm right handed it's a "quicker move" with the stylus hand. With the left one I was using my Left Thumb while holding...

Toon Zone Talkback - Groening on "Simpsons Movie" Sequel

DYK? IT21C, ESIA!* Anyway, WAY too soon to tell. It doesn't even sound like they've started production, or if they have, it's in preliminary stages, as Matt said he had no idea when one would come out. While I didn't like The Simpsons Movie quite as much as the classic era, it was still a...

The Exact Same Clothes Every Day!!!

Here's an example from tonight's episode of Generator Rex: Six walks into his closet to find one of his many green suits taken by Rex for the prom. There are maaany examples of this, though, that's why when I find a cartoon where the characters that do change their clothes on a somewhat...

    herbert on family guy

I agree to a certain extent. Since he's more of a talky kind of a character, the show needs to stop cold whenever he appears.

Family Guy - "Spies Reminiscent of Us" - Talkback [10/11]

Funny thing is (and I'm being completely honest here), I was thinking during the repeat of the Cleveland Show pilot that it'd be funny if, like, some long-range object launched by Peter flew from Quahog to Stoolbend, hit Cleveland's house, and they did one more bathtub gag. I was almost 100%...

References Towards Other Animated Programs In Animation

You can't have a thread like this and not mention Kappa Mikey. There are plenty of anime characters in the background. I remember once seeing a green (?) haired Yoh Asakura from Shaman King. EDIT: And...I just noticed the Kappa Mikey post.
