If Malfoy is 42 and Snape 37, it makes sense for Lucius to be 5 years ahead of Snape in school hence why he has the prefect's badge when Lily and Snape are being sorted. Riddle is 70 some DH. There is a 30 year age gap between Riddle and Lucius so it is unlikely that they were at school together.
