I saw it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. There will be comparrisons with Harry Potter obviously, but I found I enjoyed it a lot more than I did the Potter films especially the last few. I dont think Larkrise should be viewed too strongly on the basis of historical fact or what we might expect to find. Its essentially soft focus escapism and does what it does brilliantly. It's all there in the subtext, actually. Bond has a real story arc in this one - more so than in any other Bond film - and character development. But Forster asks that his audience does a little of the work and he doesn't spoonfeed us. This is a Bond movie made by adults at the top of their game...
