I think the sequels will stay clear from being remakes of previous Bond films, I mean it took 40 years to bring the novels to the screen last time, so the next one will probably be an original story (maybe with a name like Risico, The Property of a Lady or Quantum of Solace).

I was really shocked by the end of Layer Cake, really didn't see it coming. I saw the original Get Carter after LC so I'm guessing that's where they got the idea.

Its been a long time since I've seen the film, but, wasn't the reason the girl stayed with her dad, was so she would be near her friend? If he wasn't born, she would have not stayed, so therefore would not have been abused.
