Duane was IMO one of the Greats. He could quite possibly be the best slide guitarist. He died way to early. Not only did he play lead with the ABB, but he did a ton of Studio stuff @ the Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama. He played for with Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Otis Rush, Boz...

Just based on how they sound, a Telecaster semi-hollow. Not sure if that's within your price range, but I'd go and play one, once you hear it, you'll be hooked the same way I was.
