Modern films seem to look darker and bluer than older films (as though you're watching them through an old mirror or something). ReRAB just don't look as bright as they used to any more. It was my dad who spotted this (he watches a lot of 70s films) but I am starting to see what he means now...

Doesn't this really depend on the type of film? I mean, if I were to watch Sideways, then the story is a more important thing than the visual aspect of the film, so maybe a film like that on DVD would suffice, but if I were to watch something like Avatar, then the visual experience would warrant...
