I also don't believe the oil is the problem... The splined shifter shaft has no bearing/bushing. I believe it simply rides in the bored casing, with a seal to avoid leakage. With 53,000 miles on the tranny you could suspect that the bore in the casing has worn and/or possibly the shifter...

Guys, This may be what I am missing, what is teh diagnostic plug on the left side. Is that the orange plug off the autotune modules that looks like it plugs in, but the diagram does not show it connected? Does it connect to the bike? If so, throttle side or clutch side?
