Pain that is out of control! HELP!

Hi Backhurtz- I never have taken more medication than I am supposed to. The 15 pills that I was referring to was from the first ER visit, not last night. I was allowed to take 1 or 2 of those every 4-6 hours, so I didn't take more than I was allowed. I saw the surgeon today and I am having...

    nerve impingement..exercise..what are options?

I personally wouldn't do the weights, but that is because it sent me into a severe pain cycle. (I believe it was a corabination of the weights and the back extensions). But I guess it is up to you and depenRAB on your specific injury. If you feel the weights are not hurting you, then try...

    heel pain

It could be. I have multiple back problems and sciatic pain in both legs. Once last fall, I felt the pain in my left heel as well as the bottom of arch of my foot, which lasted about a week and then went away. I could barely walk. I was told that the sciatic nerve was the culprit. Look up...

    Massage Post Op

I will be having a one level spinal fusion of L5-S1 on April 7th. It will be a 360, so I will have incisions in the back and abdomen. I am a meraber of this massage program, where I get a massage once a month and they automatically deduct the money from my checking account. I cannot cancel...

    Upper Thigh/Lower Back Pain

Wow that is a long time to wait. I only have to wait until Dec 2nd. If you have Spondylolisthesis, then there is a fracture. I have one too. When you have your MRI, request that they give you a CD of it to take with you. I did and I could see the fracture and the slippage. The MRI place...

    Leg Weakness

OMG! I had to go out today, by myself, with my daughter, and my whole body is shaking right now. I nearly collapsed a million times, and now I feel like I have been hit by a bus. i felt like we would never get home, but when we finally did, I realized we had only been gone about an hour. It...

    Information About the Incisions

Yeah, even though I belong to this forum, and have read many threaRAB about the surgery, I still feel like I have no idea what will be happening. I am not concerned about the scar either. I will be having c-sections for the rest of my babies due to a complication that occurred during my first...

    back pain

I would suggest going to the doctor again if it has really been 37 years since you last did. Maybe there is something they can do to alleviate your pain. Good luck!

    Update on me...

Hey! A few days after I finished the Naproxen, my pain came back and with a vengence! My whole leg feels sore (area around my knee included) on top of the groin and lower back pain. I am really upset about this. When I lay in bed at night, the area where my leg meets my hip throbs. I have...

    Should I be concerned?

I am positive it wasn't from the vicodin. I hadn't taken any yet that day, and I threw up in the evening. It is so exhausting. Thankfully I get a 5 day weekend starting now. My work is also putting me on disability sooner than my surgery. I am thankful that they are being so understanding...

    Help!! Extreme back pain

Taking a hot bath always relaxes my spasms. Ice also helps dull that sharp pain. I LOVE my ice pack! Can you ask your surgeon for some muscle relaxers? I was on Flexeril for awhile, and it helped a little, but Valium has worked the best for me.

    Pain that is slowly spreading

5 months ago it started, and it was only in my groin area. Then it moved to my lower back, then on to my buttocks and down my leg, and now it is spreading up my back as high as my shoulder. I have also been having headaches for the last couple of days (not sure if that could be related). At...

    Anti-Inflammatory

I don't know what caused my pain, but I noticed it for the first time about 4 months ago. I was gardening and when I stood up, it felt like I had a knot in my groin. Ever since the pain has gotten worse over time.

When is Surgery the best choice???

Hi! Good luck with your surgery! You have been dealing with this for way too long, so I think you are doing the right thing. I am seeing the surgeon for my third visit with him on Tuesday, and I would be surprised if he didn't schedule surgery. I have tried 2 injections, and PT, and...

    Headache... Injection Related?

I am feeling a little better, but still dealing with the headache a little. It isn't severe anymore, but I have a lot of pressure in my head. I did talk to a nurse at the place I had the injection done, and she said headaches are a side effect, but a rare one. Not too much improvement on my...

pain in the lower back that radiates to both feet

I have the same pain as you, although mine only radiates down my left leg, and I also feel a lot of pain in my left groin. It is the Sciatic nerve which causes this. Although I have not yet had an MRI (appointment next week) I am being told by more than one doctor that the likely cause is a...

    spondylolysis/grade 2 anterolisthesis of L-5 on S-1

This means that the L5 vertebrae is slipping off the sacrum. The slippage is rated by percents. Grace 1 is 0-25%, Grade 2 is 26-50% and so on. So your slippage is somewhere between 26% and 50%. I have this and am having a spinal fusion surgery to fix it on April 7th. Surgery may be...

That pain is caused by sciatic nerve irritation or compression. I would definately get an MRI to find the cause.

Can my Spondy be causing head issues?

I wish I could say I consumed diet stuff! I still drink regular pop, even though I know it's bad for me:) My weight isn't an issue though, so I don't care THAT much. Mary- I bet it is the spondy causing our left sided headaches. Let me know what your Dr. says about it. I completely forgot...
